Project Manager, Beyond the Books

Julianne Salisbury serves as Project Manager for Beyond the Books, a national clearinghouse website to assist college students find experiential learning opportunities that will enhance and define their educational experience. In this role she oversees the website’s planning and development, and directs the strategic online marketing and communication efforts for the Beyond the Books website and brand.

This new Student Horizons initiative will focus on the experiential learning opportunities that are available throughout higher education. Salisbury’s participation in and promotion of these types of programs has given her a passion for the importance of making the most of the college experience.

“In college I took advantage of every new opportunity that I could. I gained a passion for hands-on learning after three study abroad programs, several internships in the U.S. and Canada and participation in the campus leadership and service clubs. Upon graduation I knew that I wanted to use my marketing major to advance these types of opportunities for other students. Student Horizons opened this door, and my work to develop Beyond the Books has provided a way to garner my passion by promoting unique experiential learning programs and putting them in one place for quick and easy student access.”

Salisbury began her career at Student Horizons, Inc. working with College of Distinction schools as the Client Services Manager for the southern region. In this position she oversaw the southern schools site presence and assisted them in formulating strategic e-communication programs.
